Customs officials on Tuesday display 21 rhino horns, with a market value of 173 million baht seized at Suvarnabhumi airport during a search of a suspected bag. Two women believed to be involved in the smuggling of the rhino horns from Ethiopia, fled during the search and warrants have been issued for their arrest. Customs officials at Suvarnabhumi airport searched a suspected large travelling bag with a tag of Ethiopian Airlines around 2pm on March 10. The search discovered 21 rhino horns, weighing 49.4kg, Paisarn Chuenjit, adviser on customs control system development of the Customs Department, said during a media briefing on Tuesday. An investigation found that two Thai women were involved in the smuggling of the rhino horns, worth 173 million baht, said Mr Paisarn.
